This isn’t exactly new, but it’s somewhat timely. Last year Steve Jobs was asked to provide the commencement speech at the Stanford University graduation. Now, not sure about you, but I had a pretty forgettable college commencement ceremony. But this is one for the ages. Nothing complicated. Nothing long and drawn out. Just a 15 minute gem. Truly words of inspiration from one of the most influential and successful blokes in the tech industry.
OK, so it’s no secret that I’m a big Apple mark. Everybody knows that I’m on a first name basis with the folks in the Apple stores and that sometimes if I happen to be browsing the MacBook section on a busy weekend they might even ask me to fill in at the Genius Bar (kidding). But putting all of that so-called fanboy-like loyalty aside, this is a great life message. And this is going to sound really campy, but hearing speeches like this and watching the innovations at the keynote every year make me proud to be a Mac owner.
